My challenge to Universal is this…….you create a fabulous atmosphere and the amount of people coming through is HUGE. You are in the catbird seat which allows you to present to the public the image you choose, so why not use that advantage to make a difference? I would like to see vendors on your streets selling nutritious foods. How about a Bugs Bunny cart with carrot sticks with perhaps a side of ranch dressing (made with yogurt) or sprinkles of salt or sugar or an herb? What if Johnny Appleseed was to sell sliced apples with cinnamon, sugar, salt, spice or just plain?
A family in the middle of going on all the rides is not likely to head back to the area where all the restaurants are at the beginning, not in the middle of the day. They are looking for close and convenient……..you need to offer some good choices on your avenues of rides. Offer healthy choices which would give energy and nutrition, instead of sluggish and sleepy heavy foods. After all, more energy means more people spending a longer time at the park and spending money in the shops. A lack of energy and burn out will send them back to their car and hotel.
Universal……you are out there so step up to the plate! I’m not suggesting you remove your huge 1950’s drive-in offering burgers and fries…….I like that too. But I would like to see healthy options and I think Universal could offer entertainment along with a healthy choice. Use your influence!
So how about it Universal? I hope you take the challenge, because I’ll be back. Not only to enjoy the Transformers for a third time, but also to see what else is new.
